NORTH DEVON
SHORLAND OLD FARM - 3 DAY PAINTING BREAKS (3 days tuition, 4 nights accommodation)
12th – 16th July 2021 - WATER, TREES & FOLIAGE IN WATERCOLOUR
Trees, foliage and water are fundamental elements for the watercolour landscape painter to capture.
Paul encourages a loose, expressive approach with watercolour, and weather-permitting, he likes to
combine studio with painting outdoors.
On this course he will guide you through his key techniques for capturing an impression of trees
and foliage throughout the seasons, as well as portraying water, from calm lakes to rough seas and
crashing waves.
15th - 19th August 2021 - LIGHT, MOOD AND ATMOSPHERE IN ACRYLICS
Light, mood and atmosphere are key ingredients that can bring a landscape painting to life,
and the versatile, forgiving quality of acrylics are perfect for exploring these themes
in visual terms.
I will focus on the importance of shape, tone, edges and colour, along with expressive brush work
and also using a palette knife to create exciting, atmospheric landscapes.
