BATHWICK HILL HOUSE 2019 - ART COURSES

I am delighted to be tutoring a range of different courses at this fabulous venue for 2019.

Bathwick Hill House is an impressive listed home, surrounded by mature gardens and
with spectacular views of the city. The house is easily accessible by road, rail and bus
and there is ample free parking.

Spaces are limited to 10 per course to ensure individual attention.

The courses will be held alongside the beautiful pool, a unique and inspiring location.
Courses run from 9.30 - 5.00, including morning coffee, a gourmet lunch and afternoon tea
and cake. So, a wonderful chance to treat yourself and indulge the creative senses!


6th July 2019 - DRAMATIC SKIES IN WATERCOLOUR

The sky is the primary source of light in the landscape, setting the tone
and atmosphere for the entire painting. With many moods to consider,
this course will focus on the dramatic effects of sun busts and backlit clouds,
billowing cumulous, threatening rain storms and vibrant sunsets.

Covering wet in wet techniques, mixing on paper, lifting out and free,
expressive brushwork, if you want to loosen up your watercolours, this is for you!

Some drawing and painting experience useful.


17th September 2019 - BEGINNERS WATERCOLOUR COURSE

This course is aimed at the complete beginner to watercolour, as well as those
who want to go back over the fundamental techniques and principles of the medium.

The following are suggestions for materials that will be useful for this course,
please feel free to adapt as you wish according to your own experience.


12th November 2019 - ATMOSPHERIC SNOW SCENES IN WATERCOLOUR

The season of winter provides a wonderful range of subjects for the landscape painter.
Paul will cover techniques for capturing winter trees, foliage, rivers and buildings, as well as the
effects of shadows falling across snow.
