PAINT THE AMAZING LIGHT AND COLOUR OF THE WESTERN ALGARVE - 11th - 18th OCTOBER 2022
The Algarve is well known for it's amazing light conditions and vibrant colours, perfect subject matter
for the watercolourist! From the vivid blue skies, turquoise waters and lush green vegetation, to the
rustic tiled and coloured traditional buildings, there will be plenty to inspire us all.
The Western Algarve is more rural, rustic and peaceful than the hustle and bustle of the Central Algarve
with it's sleepy harbours, quiet mountain villages and un-spoilt coastline. The holiday will be based in the
traditional fishing village of Burgau, where there is an abundance of painting material within walking
distance of the hotel.
We will also visit the coastal towns of Lagos (15 mins away) and Praia Da Luz (5 mins away) where you can paint
anything from fishing harbours, old forts, traditional Portuguese tiled buildings, churches and town squares to
multi-coloured fishing boats, palm trees, beaches and The Algarve Coast. There are plenty of traditional
Portuguese villages nearby, as well as Cape St Vincent and the west coast within reach.

LANDSCAPES, CASTLES & CANALS IN THE VALE OF USK, SOUTH WALES - 2nd - 6th JULY 2023
Join me on this unique opportunity to paint the Castles, Canals and the beautiful surrounding landscape of the
Usk Valley, Monmouthshire and Abergavenny. We will paint along the Brecon and Monmouth Canal at places
such as Goytre Wharf and/or Govilon Wharf, Castles such as Caldicott and/or Raglan plus Welsh Heritage Sites
such as Blaenavon Ironworks with its traditional cottages and remnants of an industrial past.
The grounds around the hotel with the lake, reflections, streams and trees with their dappled sunlight provides
great subject matter as well as the landscapes, valleys and lakes in Brecon, giving plenty of variety of
painting subjects.

CAPTURE HISTORIC WELLS & SOMERSET IN WATERCOLOUR - 24th - 28th SEPTEMBER 2023
The historic City of Wells and surrounding Somerset countryside is a wonderful place to paint, with many
inspiring subjects to consider. We will visit locations such as Vicar's Close with its stone buildings, the Bishop's Palace
with its moat and the medieval market. Countryside locations including Kilver Court and/or Nunney are also on
the itinerary.
